Edit: The spelling mistake was pointed out. XD Reading dyslexia is fun and I'll try to correct it soon. Edit edit: fixed.

Okay XD So I was making this but I am new to learning gimp and I just started stumbling over the layers when attempting a background that it became and mess and I decided to just leave it. Behind the scientists were meant to be a tree, unbound DNA and some animals and below was meant to be a finished fossil.

Anywho, I was talking with a nice person about evolution and I mentioned that I generally get a little insulted when evolution is called the belief system of Atheism, or that Evolution=Atheism, but then I added that maybe scientists who are also religious should feel a little more insulted.

Edit: That guy in the blue shirt could be anyone, he can be religious or non religious. <_< He is just a mouthpiece.

Within the drawing is a Christian Paleontologist, Muslim biologist/ecologist and Hindu Bio-Chemist and they are either mad because their field involving evolution was misrepresented.... or because they were indirectly called Atheists. (And Atheist is a bad word, haha now I'm sad.. D= )

But yes it happens, evolution sometimes is called the creation of Atheism. Though this makes an assumption that all natural scientists are atheists and that all religious people totally believe in the straight up literal interpretation of their creation myth. Both are untrue. XD

It's easy to find plenty of scientists who also identify as whatever religion and they're good scientists.

My favorite example is GREGOR MENDAL =D Catholic monk and he discovered the basics of genetics which is the driving evidence for evolution.
Although I can't interpret how he felt, most teachers and people today tend to agree that their faith or belief in God has no contradiction to their understanding of whatever science or evolution and at times such knowledge compliments their faith.

So while Atheists may be flattered that evolution is credited to them, it's not true. XD The two have nothing to do with each other.

You are so right!
People who state that Evolution was made for Atheist forget,
that Evolution only makes sense thanks to the discoveries of a CATHOLIC MONK! :boogie:

I stopped caring about the evolution/creationism debate long ago. It's an absolute mess.

It is! Though this is more about evolution incorrectly seen as something invented by Atheists.

Those ignoramuses make me want to give them a slap to the back of the head. I may be an atheist, but it drives me batshit nuts when I see people getting a label slapped on them because an idiot cannot comprehend that an issue goes deeper than they think.

Scientists may or may not be atheists, it is true. Science itself is based on naturalism, however -- as a working hypothesis. That hypothesis has been tested with every scientific experiment that has ever been done, because science builds upon itself. Naturalism -- as a working hypothesis -- has not yet been found to fail. The likelihood that the universe is entirely naturalistic -- no matter what we humans believe about it -- is extremely likely.
